I recently wasted 15mins of my life on a seemly simple request; changing my default web browser to Chrome Canary. I initially thought to make this change within the preferences of Safari. Wrong!
It turns out that you can make this change directly in Mac OS X (10.11.4 – El Capitan) by going to System Preferences – General and then scrolling down to the “Default web browser” section.
Some people are reporting that they not seeing the option to change the browser within system preferences. Here’s a work around to that limitation if you’re experiencing the same thing.
